Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 17 minutes (maybe a couple minutes less depending on the oven)
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups flower
- 1 tsp. salt
- 8 oz. butter
- 0.75 cup sugar
- 0.75 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or mix of both!)
- 1 cup walnuts (optional)
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together
- Slightly soften butter in the microwave
- Mix wet ingredients together with the butter
- Combine wet and dry ingredients
- (optional) Mix in nuts
- Chill cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour
- Preheat oven to 325°F
- Scoop dough onto lined baking sheet approximately 2 inches apart
- Bake for 17 minutes or until edges are golden brown
- (optional) for crispier cookies bake extra 1-2 minutes
- Remove and place on paper towel or rack to cool
- If you don’t want to bake all your dough at once, then just freeze unused cookie dough and thaw when you’re ready to bake!
